How about the Pantech Transformer

April 3rd, 2007 - posted in Pantech

Pantech TransformerSo Pantech does occasionally produce a phone that turns my head every now and then. Just a little while ago I was trying to find some information on a new phone concept they announced today and I came across this little beauty of a concept from 06. Its called the Pantech Transformer and as you can see it has a very large screen that swivels (Probably great for watching movies).

What is with all of these rotating phones? Do you think that phone manufactures are adding moving parts because it looks cooler or is the decision to rotate parts inspired by actually being useful?

Click the link below to see bigger photos of this phone.

I wasn’t able to dig up any useful information on this phone because, well… their website was in Korean but it looks like this was just a concept. If any of you know anything about this phone let me know, I am curious to know if it made it into production.

I hardly understood when they made laptop screens that swivel, but that I can kind of understand. However, with something as small as a phone, it seems like it would be just as easy to turn the entire phone, but maybe that’s why I don’t have a job at Pantech
