As hype surrounding the upcoming Apple iPhone and LG Prada phone begin to surface, interest in touch screen cellphones is increasing so I went ahead and ordered the Motorola ROKR E6 about a week ago. This is an early demo showing off some of its features, Give me a week or two to really use the phone in and out for about a day and then I will post a FULL detailed review of my thoughts. Click through for a quick video clip of the phone.

On the heels of other successful qwerty phones (sidekick, blackberry, treo, blackjack) Kyocera announces their M0100. Actually this phone reminds me of a clamshell Motorola had a couple of years back, the Motorola a630. Much like the A630, the Kyocera M1000 clamshells open to a 1.8″ 160 x 120 262k TFT display. Running EV-DO connections, a 1.3 megapixel camera, java support, bluetooth, video. It will be interesting to see how this phone does against some of its bigger higher end QWERTY cousins.

Now I have seen a couple of Vertu phones here and there and yea, they are nice; but in most cases I don’t find them nice enough to warrant such a high price tag. Introducing, the Ferrari Ascent from Vertu. This stainless steel bodied cell phone is being sold in limited numbers (1947 to be exact) commemorating Ferrari’s founding years and I have to say, I would love to get my hands on one of these. So far the only information I can find on it is that the phone will be released in July; but if any of you get a hold of pricing let me know, I may need to try and get my hands on this little Vertu.

For those of you looking for a simple no frills cellphone, Nokia announces their 5070. This small simple handset boasts basic SMS, MMS, audio messages, and VGA camera for $135 which means you can grab a good phone without breaking the bank. If you’re anything like me, there are some situations that you don’t want to take your high end phone and having a small cheap handset like this is a great alternative. The Nokia 5070 should be released in either blue or red sometime around Q2 in Europe.
